The Honey Glazed Recipe

The Honey Glazed Recipe

Last night I took LeeLee and Eli (two of my kids) to the farmers market and had an amazing time! We have a neighbor, Donna, a former chef at a local farm in the Valley who has honey bees. On our way home she invited us in to see her kitchen and gave us the most amazing honey ever! It had just been harvested from her hives and it was delicious!

So my creative mind went crazy with recipe ideas and I settled on this one:

The Honey Glazed Recipe

Honey Glazed Pork Chops on The Grill

  • 5 pork chops, boneless
  • 2 Tbsp fresh, delicious honey from the neighbor (and if you don’t have a neighbor that  raises honey bees, a honey from your local farmers market will work)
  • Montreal Steak seasoning
  • 3 Tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 large sweet potato (regular), sliced thinly
  • 1 large sweet potato with purple skin, sliced thinly
  • salt and pepper
  • dash of cayenne pepper
  • 2 organic broccoli heads
  • 1 Tbsp butter

  1. Start grill so it will be hot when pork chops are ready to go on.
  2. Layout pork chops on a plate. Lightly coat pork chops with honey by spreading with spoon. Sprinkle Montreal steak seasoning on both sides. (I spread the honey with the spoon then sprinkle on the seasoning on one side first, then flipped over the chop and did the same to the other side). Set aside.
  3. In a warm pain coated with olive oil, fry sweet potatoes until soft and some slices are golden brown.
  4. Fill a sauce pan with 1/2 cup water, put in broccoli heads and cover. Steam for 5-7 minutes. Melt butter on a plate (I just used a plate to cover my sauce pan and put the butter on the plate…it melted nicely!) and lightly coat tops of broccoli with butter by dipping them in the butter.
  5. While broccoli is steaming, place pork chops on a hot grill. The best tasting of the chops were the ones that allowed the honey sugar to caramelize. They had some dark brown/black spots, but they were out of this world with flavor.
  6. Enjoy an amazing meal with your family!
