As A Parent, Will I Gain Weight Eating All of The Food in Stay Fueled?
At the last nutrition seminar I gave, I got a great question: “As a parent, will I gain weight eating all of the food found in Stay Fueled.”
What a great question!!!
It would seem that eating frequently would cause you to gain weight. But the truth is, when we eat frequent meals, it’s actually much healthier for you. It helps to improve your metabolism, and create an incredible routine for your body.
The other critical component of Stay Fueled is all of the fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, and protein we have as a daily part of the program. In our job and in our life, many times we only do the convenient option and not necessarily the healthiest option. This is especially true when it comes to our nutrition. With Stay Fueled, you as a parent also have a plan. And planning is the key to success, in life and in nutrition.
Remember, to go along with Stay Fueled, we recommend frequent exercise (as long as it’s approved by your doctor) and making sure you practice portion control. Your athlete, especially the ones growing, might need 3rds and 4ths, but as parents, this probably isn’t the case (unless you are also training for a race, competition, or other high energy need). A great guideline for parents is to eat portions the size of your fist. Be satisfied, but don’t eat until your stuffed.
Remember, you are the example that your child athlete follows. If you don’t eat right, there’s no way your athlete is going to eat right.
